Orangeburg HSHP offers high quality instruction and purposeful extra-curricular activities. Founded in 2012, the school was initially located in the Orangeburg Technology Center on Magnolia Street with seven classrooms and seventy-three students. The school transitioned to the Nix Elementary building on Stilton Road for several years. The facility located on Howard Hill Drive houses 22 classrooms, an administrative suite, and cafeteria.
Students at Orangeburg HSHP have the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree or college credit via early college while attending our school. Our students eagerly embrace having a plethora of opportunities attributed to their unparalleled preparation to be successful in their college and/or professional careers!

1. Eligibility
Interested applicants are encouraged to attend one of the school’s informational sessions.
Orangeburg HSHP is based in Orangeburg County, but students throughout the state of South Carolina are eligible to apply. Acceptance is subject to space limitations, and based on grade levels served. Orangeburg HSHP serves 9th – 12th grade students.
2. Application
Orangeburg HSHP has a simple one-page application. There are no admissions tests required.
Applications will be accepted until the closing date. The application must be postmarked by the closing date and NO applications will be accepted at the school. Applications received after the deadline may be considered on a space available basis.
3. Lottery Selection
Orangeburg HSHP admits students based on a random lottery selection process and curriculum-driven processes.
A random public lottery is scheduled at Orangeburg HSHP, if the number of applications exceed the grade level availability. Those with a selected slot will be notified no later than the posted deadline on the application
4. Success
You will be welcomed into a thriving student-led learning environment.
Students who are selected and choose to attend Orangeburg HSHP must fully complete and submit the Student Enrollment Packet online on or before the deadline. You will receive the link to the registration/enrollment packet via email.
